Focera
Privacy Policy
Effective date: March 26, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Focera collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you use the Focera iPhone app, Apple Watch app, widgets, Live Activities, and related features.
1. Summary
Focera is designed to work primarily on your device. Most of the information you create in the app, such as session history, schedules, targets, notes, and settings, is stored locally on your device unless you choose to use Apple services such as iCloud, HealthKit, Calendar, Apple Music, or Family Controls.
We do not sell your personal information, we do not use third-party advertising SDKs, and we do not track you across other companies’ apps or websites.
2. Information We Collect
Information you create in Focera
- Focus, break, meditation, sleep, and other session records.
- Session history, streaks, targets, planner items, schedules, interval sequences, custom session types, notes, and achievements.
- App preferences such as theme, timer settings, audio settings, notification preferences, and feature toggles.
App state and device-linked data
- Information needed to power widgets, Live Activities, the Apple Watch companion experience, and device-to-device state sync.
- Subscription entitlement status provided through Apple’s App Store and StoreKit.
Optional data from Apple frameworks and permissions
- Health data: if you enable HealthKit, Focera may save meditation sessions to Health and may read sleep data for sleep analytics.
- Calendar data: if you enable calendar sync, Focera may read calendar events and create or update calendar entries related to your sessions and schedule.
- Location data: if you enable location tagging, Focera uses your current location to generate a place label, such as a city or place name, for a session. Focera stores the place label in your history, not raw GPS coordinates.
- Apple Music data: if you enable Apple Music features, Focera may request access to your Apple Music account and library so you can choose and play music within the app.
- Family Controls selections: if you enable Deep Focus, Focera stores the app, website, or category selections you choose so it can apply your blocking preferences during focus sessions.
3. How We Use Information
- To provide timers, sequences, planner features, analytics, history, targets, achievements, and session editing.
- To power Live Activities, widgets, complications, and Apple Watch features.
- To sync or back up your data across your own devices when you enable iCloud sync or backup.
- To read or write data to Apple services you choose to connect, such as Health, Calendar, Apple Music, and Family Controls.
- To maintain app reliability, restore state, and improve the user experience.
4. HealthKit and Health Data
If you grant HealthKit permission, Focera may:
- write mindful or meditation sessions to Apple Health; and
- read sleep analysis data to support sleep-related analytics and dashboards.
Health data is used only to provide health and wellness features inside Focera. Health data is not used for advertising, marketing profiling, or data broker activity, and it is not sold.
5. Where Your Data Is Stored
- On-device storage: Focera stores most app data locally on your device.
- iCloud: if you enable iCloud sync or backup, selected app data may be stored in your iCloud account using Apple’s services.
- Apple Health cache: if you enable sleep features, Focera may keep a local on-device cache of sleep samples to improve performance and avoid repeated full reads from HealthKit.
6. Purchases and Subscriptions
Focera offers optional in-app purchases and subscriptions through Apple’s App Store. Purchase processing, billing, and payment information are handled by Apple. We do not receive your full payment card details.
7. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal data. We share information only in the following limited ways:
- With Apple services and frameworks you choose to use, such as HealthKit, EventKit, NSUbiquitousKeyValueStore, Apple Music, StoreKit, WatchConnectivity, ActivityKit, and Family Controls.
- When required by law, legal process, or to protect rights, safety, and the security of the app or its users.
8. Tracking, Analytics, and Advertising
- Focera does not use third-party advertising SDKs.
- Focera does not currently use third-party analytics SDKs for cross-app or cross-site tracking.
- Focera does not sell data to data brokers.
9. Retention and Deletion
- Your data remains in the app until you delete it, reset the app, or uninstall the app, subject to any copies stored in your own iCloud account if you enabled iCloud features.
- You can disable permissions such as Health, Calendar, Location, Apple Music, and notifications at any time in iOS settings.
- You can disable iCloud sync or backup at any time in the app’s settings.
10. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to help protect your information. However, no method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure.
11. Children’s Privacy
Focera is not directed to children under 13, or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
12. International Transfers
If you use Apple services such as iCloud, Apple Health, Apple Music, or the App Store, information may be processed by Apple in countries other than your own in accordance with Apple’s policies and applicable law.
13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date on this page.
